Rees scholarship award winners revealed
USA – The Clifford H. “Ted” Rees, Jr., Scholarship Foundation, which is a charitable foundation run by the Air-Conditioning, Heating, and Refrigeration Institute (AHRI), today announced that it was donating $60,500 in scholarship funds to 35 students, including five veterans, who are currently studying to become technicians in the HVACR and water heating industry.
The Clifford H. “Ted” Rees, Jr. Scholarship Foundation was set up in 2003 with the goal of assisting with the recruitment and competency of future HVACR and water heating technicians by providing scholarships for qualified students enrolled in an institutionally accredited school. Since the inception of the scheme in 2003, almost $440,000 in scholarships has been awarded to more than 250 deserving students and instructors. To be eligible for the grant, students must be preparing for a career in either residential or light commercial air conditioning, heating, or water heating, or commercial refrigeration.
AHRI President & CEO Stephen Yurek announced the identities of this year’s winners, stating that “We are proud to help these qualified and dedicated students, and promote careers in the HVACR and water heating industry, to help close the employment and skills gaps we currently face. We wish them success in their programs and look forward to welcoming them into the industry.”
