Carel eyeing North African market
NORTH AFRICA – The Italian-based company Carel, who specialise in control solutions for air-conditioning, refrigeration and heating, and systems for humidification and evaporative cooling, have revealed that they are targeting the North African market as the company seeks to expand and develop its business. Due to the region’s historical ties to France, the expansion is being led by Carel France, the French subsidiary whose base is in Lyon. Carel also opened an office in the nearby Middle East region as the company continues to target developing markets.
As part of this drive to expand its business in North Africa, Carel, in conjunction with their trusted partner and distributor DSC exhibited at SIFAC – Salon International du Froid, Air conditionné et du Chaud (the International exhibition of Cooling, Air conditioning and Heating) in Casablanca, Morocco last April.
Speaking after the event, Pascal Guignier, the managing director of Carel France, commented “This was the first time we were present at the event with our own stand. The exhibition is renowned throughout the region, and for us it represented an ideal way to understand this market close-up and promote our high-efficiency solutions to potential customers.”
This year, Carel also took the opportunity to exhibit at Djazagro, in Algeria, where they presented a complete range of refrigeration controllers together with their local distributor Codifet. The range of products presented by the company included solutions for cold rooms and showcases, electronic expansion valves, compressor controllers and supervisory systems.
Mr Guignier outlined the company’s ongoing strategy for the region, stating “We are already planning to take part in an exhibition in Tunisia next spring”.
He continued, adding “The Maghreb is a growing market and one where there is increasingly attention on complete solutions that ensure high savings. Carel’s more than forty years of know-how and experience offer important added value in these countries”.
