Alfa Laval lands Chinese district heating contract
CHINA – Alfa Laval, the Swedish company specialising in heat transfer, centrifugal separation and fluid handling, has won a contract to supply compact heat exchangers to a district heating plant in China. The contract is worth approximately £7.5 million and is scheduled to be delivered across 2015 and 2016.
The heat exchangers will be installed for use in a district heating network which will supply heating for almost 1 million residences in winter and is managed by one of the largest district heating companies in China.
The compact heat exchangers will serve as pressure breakers and act as a middle station between the central power plant and the district heating network. The purpose of the pressure breakers is to process water at high temperatures and pressures and guarantee that the operation of the network remains stable.
“I am very pleased to announce this large order for district heating,” declared Lars Renström, President and CEO of the Alfa Laval Group. This order proves our strong position as a supplier of reliable products for demanding applications.”
