FRANCE — Arkema has announced a price increase of 20% on all of its HFC refrigerants in Europe.
The company announced that the increase will take effect immediately, in accordance with existing contracts, and will apply to the sales price on all loose and pre-packaged FORANE HFC products.
“In recent years, the company has been strongly affected by the continual decrease in prices in Europe, which led to an unsustainably low level of profitability for the entire value chain,” declared the company in a press release.
The French chemical manufacturer claims to need to restore profitability in order to continue to invest in the development of lower-GWP alternatives which must be readily available. This condition must be met in order to comply with new environmental and regulatory requirements.
