Honeywell extend their Lyric range
USA – Soon leaves will turn color, pumpkins will be ready for carving and the smell of Autumn will be in the air. That means that cooler temperatures are also on the way, and Honeywell’s new The Lyric™ T Series is here to make sure that homes everywhere are ready for the upcoming heating season.
The Lyric T Series of connected and non-connected thermostats are the latest additions to the Lyric family of smart home products. The series, including the DIY-ready Lyric T5 and the contractor-installed Lyric T6 and T6 Pro options, are designed with today’s busy homeowner in mind, including a variety of product models and priced to fit a variety of homeowner budgets.
Like the Lyric Round™ Wi-Fi Thermostat, the Lyric T Series is Apple® HomeKit™ compatible, which allows homeowners to set up special actions and even access other HomeKit-enabled devices around the home safely and securely. With Siri, users can change the temperature of their home without lifting a finger. And the Lyric T5 can use voice control with Amazon Alexa-enabled devices, such as the Echo, and will soon be available on Amazon’s latest service Tap.
The lyric T5 therefore benefits from compatibility with the Amazon Echo, just as its competitor Carrier Côr announced it last month.
Thermostats of the T series use the Lyric application, developed by Honeywell for Android and iOS. This one takes advantage of the geolocation of the smartphone to adjust the temperature when the owners go home.
The thermostat also automatically switches to energy saving mode when the occupants are not at home. And of course, the thermostat warns users of a need for filter change or any frozen pipes.
A compatible smartphone is of course an essential requirement to benefit from the new technologies currently being developed by Honeywell and Carrier (among others). At the time of publication, the exact date of availability of the new models has not yet been announced.
