Discover MHIAE’s heating and air conditioning range
The company provides high-efficiency systems for cooling and heating air and water for residential, commercial and industrial use. Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Ltd (MHI) has more than 90 years experience of developing air conditioning systems. It continues to develop its products in Europe through MHIAE by improving its global reputation for providing reliable air conditioning solutions.
The company boasts a wide range of air conditioning products from single units to flexible and multi-split systems. Split systems have the capacity to meet the demands of commercial and domestic applications. The VRF-KX series includes heating and chilling solutions for commercial use.
The company offers standard high-capacity appliances which can be tailored to the needs of large commercial and industrial spaces. The air-water heat pump range can in turn be tailored to fit all types of applications.
Versatile Air Conditioning
MHIAE propose a wide range of versatile and energy-efficient single or multi-splits systems which should provide solutions for most small and medium commercial applications and all residential demands.
All products offer the best efficiencies in their category thanks to high performance inverters and intelligent designs. All of the company’s split systems come available with a wide range of controllers. The latest version of controller features a touchscreen panel, while most of the company’s commercial systems are available in both 1-phase and 3-phase electric power in an effort to optimize flexibility.
Split Systems
A single split system means that a single outdoor unit is connected to a single indoor unit.
- RAC single splits
- PAC single splits
A multi split system is defined as being 1 outdoor unit connected to up to 6 indoor units, when used in small applications, or 4 indoor units in the case of medium applications, which may can be controlled either individually or as a group. The sole constraint for a multi split system is that all the indoor units must be in either cooling or heating mode simultaneously.
- RAC multi indoor units
- RAC multi outdoor units
- PAC multi splits
Larger multi spilt systems which comprise up to 80 indoor units connected to 1 outdoor unit are known as VRF systems.
Heat Pumps
MHIAE’s range of heat pumps aims to deliver efficient, cost-saving methods of heating water for use in bathrooms and kitchens, in central heating or in industrial processes.
MHIAE manufacture quite an extensive range of air-to-water and water-to-water heat pumps which are suitable for domestic, commercial, and industrial use. The range of heat pumps that the company produces include the following:
Q-ton – An air-to-water heat pump which has been designed for commercial use (5,000 to 100,000L/day) and which can produce sanitary hot water at temperatures up to 90°C from a single 30kW unit. It is possible to connect up to 16 units together and feed one or more storage tanks to meet higher demand, all units being managed by a single controller.
Hydrolution – An air-to-water heat pump, which is mostly used for space heating and domestic cooling and which is capable of producing hot sanitary water at temperatures of up to 65°C. The system comprises an outdoor and an indoor unit that doubles up as a water tank, and the system is available in 8kW, 9kW or 16kW capacities.
ETW – This is a high capacity water-to-water heat pump that is suitable for industrial applications and which uses the heat from waste water to produce large amounts of sanitary hot water at temperatures of up to 90°C.
VRF
MHIAE’s KX VRF system provides simple and flexible solutions for commercial and industrial applications, with a single system comprising up to 80 indoor units.
The company states that reduced energy consumption and high efficiency rates are delivered thanks to the system’s sophisticated control, in tandem with a high level of technology, The KX range extends from 11.2kW cooling capacity (22.4 kW for heat recovery) all the way up to the largest capacity single outdoor unit in the industry with a cooling capacity of 68.0kW. It is also possible to pair outdoor units together, thereby providing up to 136.0kW for a single system.
The KX6 heat pump systems operate with 2 inter-connecting pipes (usually called a ‘2-pipe system’), and can be used to provide either a heating or cooling operation for all indoor units. The KX6 pump system is suitable for a wide variety of applications ranging from an individual apartment to an entire multi storey building.
The KXR6 heat recovery systems operate with 3 inter-connecting pipes (usually known as a ‘3-pipe system’), and can be used to provide both heating and cooling operations to individual indoor units depending on the room condition/requirement. The KXR6 pump system also incorporates highly sophisticated control to condition multiple indoor areas, for use in applications where the building orientation creates heat gain/loss on each side of the building.
MHIAE’s latest HVAC projects
MHIAE are involved in many ongoing HVAC projects, including:
- A project replacing air conditioning systems for The Original Bowling Company, the UK’s number one ten pin bowling operator. MHI claims to have delivered energy savings of up to 38% to the bowling centres by installing a multi-split heat pump system.
- Installing a KX VRF air conditioning system with inverter control at Crossways Academy, Lewisham, a college catering for 500 students from the age of 16+
- Installing an air conditioning system for 2 hotels and a bus station in the Riverlights centre, Derby. The air conditioning system comprises a MHI KXR6 3 pipe heat recovery system.
- Installing a new air conditioning system for all areas of Bristol airport. The new system features the installation of MHI FD Split and Multi Split systems, including 22 multi split systems and 33 SAF fresh air heat exchangers (click here to know more).
MHIAE provide a range of chillers and heat pumps designed for use in all industrial spaces.
