Emerson release new Copeland units
GERMANY – Emerson Climate Technologies have announced the release of their next generation of Copeland EazyCool ZX refrigeration units which they hope will offer additional benefits to users.
The new EazyCool ZX refrigeration unit comes equipped with a new electronic controller which should enable precise adjustment of suction and condensing pressures and show all relevant parameters on a LED display. Another new feature is the hinged front door which has a quick check window to view the system status without opening the unit. The company claim that the improved accessibility and pre-configured controller settings will help reduce commissioning time and costs.
The new models are set to keep the compact dimensions of the older generation of EazyCool refrigeration units, while the company state that the fan blades are sound optimized with controlled rotation speed and that the use of Copeland Scroll compressors will reduce power consumption and save on operating costs. Furthermore, multiple refrigerant approvals including R134a, R407A and R407F should serve to increase flexibility and ease logistics as one model fits most applications – the company expects this aspect to appeal to wholesalers and installers.
Emerson further claim that all the important system settings, such as fan speed, can be adjusted to match the application requirements. The new universal controller should also help to provide electronic motor protection of the compressor and real time communication via Modbus. Protection against corrosion and reliable operation should be ensured due to the presence of galvanized panels and coated condensers. The company expects that the new generation will help customers to reduce life cycle costs to a minimum as a result of its short installation time, superior efficiency and high reliability.
Emerson also announced that the ZX refrigeration units already meet future efficiency requirements under Directive 2009/125/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council concerning ecodesign requirements for professional storage cabinets, blast cabinets, condensing units and process chillers.
